Richard Lyle Dawson went to be with the Lord on December 16, 2021. He was born to Otto and Evelyn (Kirschenman) Dawson on May 23, 1936 in Lansing, Michigan. He married his wife, Ilie Sue Dinwiddie in 1955. They had two children and lived in Lansing together for the rest of their lives. He retired from Fisher Body in 1986 after over 30 years of service.
Richard enjoyed a fulfilling life of love with Sue, and their large family network of siblings and cousins. He loved gardening, fishing, woodworking, going to estate sales, western novels and shows, and anything to do with his children and grandchildren. Each day included phone calls with his loving sons.
Richard is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Sue Dawson; parents, Otto and Evelyn Dawson; sisters, Barbara and Shirley; and brother, Russell. He is survived and sorely missed by his sons, Greg (Hilde Dewolf) and Gary (Cherrie) Dawson; grandchildren, Brice, Seth, and Gillian Dawson; and sisters, Mary Farr and Marilyn Sisco.

A visitation for Richard will be held Monday, December 27, 2021 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 East Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI 48912, followed by a funeral service from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM.
