Raymond Gene Bogle, age 69, of Lansing, Michigan passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025. Raymond is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Mary Bogle; his children, Joshua Bogle (partner, Ryan Howe) and Jessica (Dallas) Roberts; his cherished grandchildren, Grace Elizabeth Roberts and Katherine Jo Roberts. He is also remembered by his brother, Cameron (Kathi) Bogle; nephew Ryan and his partner, Charlie; brother-in-law Jon Benallack; niece Caitlin Benallack; nephew Noah Benallack, brother-in-law Michael (Katherine) Stanley. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Phyllis Bogle; sister, Rhonda Marie Benallack, and sister-in-law, Terri Stanley.
Raymond lived a life filled with dedication to family, hard work, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life.
Ray had a lifelong love of sports. He was an enthusiastic fan of the Detroit Red Wings, Michigan State football, and basketball of all kinds. One of his favorite annual traditions was watching the Daytona 500, an event he eagerly anticipated each year.
As a child, Raymond spent cherished summers vacationing with his family at Horsehead Lake. Later in life, he continued this tradition by creating lasting memories with his own family at Higgins Lake. These times were among his most treasured.
Known affectionately by neighbors as “the yard man,” Ray took great pride in maintaining a beautiful yard and planting flowers. His attention to detail and care for his surroundings reflected the same dedication he brought to all areas of his life.
A hardworking individual, Raymond made a significant impact during his years of service with the State of Michigan, retiring as a Senior Lead Department Technician—a position that he was very proud of.
Ray was known for putting family first. He enjoyed water skiing and played softball in his younger years. For many years, he and his spouse bowled together in a mixed doubles league. His sense of humor also left an impression—his coworkers fondly recalled how he would spell out his last name on work calls: “B as in boy, O, G as in girl, L-E,” often prompting them to join in.
Raymond had a deep love for animals and leaves behind his two beloved Australian Shepherds, Beau Blu and Koda James.
His memory will live on through the lives he touched with kindness, laughter, and unwavering devotion. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
A Memorial Service for Raymond will be held on May 6th at 12:30pm at Gorsline Runciman Tiffany Chapel located on 3232 W Saginaw St, Lansing, MI 48917. The family will begin receiving guests at 11:00am. until the time of service. Inurnment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 2600 E Mt Hope Ave, Lansing, MI 48910.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, the Parkinson’s Foundation, or the Dementia Society of America.
