Randy Lee Chase

On this day of our Lord, December 3, 2019, Randy Lee Chase went to the land of his ancestors. He was given enough time to set his affairs in order, meet with friends, and spend time with his spoiled brat cats, Mikey and Joey. He took his last breath surrounded by family and was welcomed home by his Lord and family members who preceded him in death which include his parents Floyd D. Chase and Bernice L. Chase (Ritenburg), and siblings Marlene M. Wood (Tom), David D. Chase (Libby), and Gary F. Chase. Randy is survived by many nieces and nephews including greats and great-greats.

Randy proudly served in the U.S Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Rathburne. Upon discharge of the Navy he received the Combat Action Ribbon, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal.

After returning from his station in Pearl Harbor, HI he moved back to Michigan and made his home in Lansing where he worked in the auto industry for the remainder of his years retiring in January of 2019.

His passions in life were his cats, all of them, too many to name, pow wows, and gardening. They are all interconnected. He was also passionate about sports with special interest in Michigan State University and Texas A&M.

We, his family, would like to say a special thank-you to the staff at The Sparrow Hospice House of Mid-Michigan for their care and support during this difficult time. They made sure that his last journey was comfortable and painless.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave, Lansing from 1:00-5:00pm. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, December 9, 2019 at St. David Episcopal Church. 1519 Elmwood Rd., Lansing, MI 48917. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will immediately follow.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in honor of Randy may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1755 Abbey, East Lansing, MI 48823.
