Paul Walfrid Hedin, 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at the home he shared with Carolyn Curl, surrounded by his children. Born on September 10, 1937 in Eaton Rapids, Michigan to Eric J. and Emily L. (Sercombe) Hedin. He had six siblings.
Paul married Joyce A. Roberts on January 5, 1957. Together they welcomed three children, Michael (Sylvia), Michelle, and Steven (Mary) Hedin. They celebrated 27 years of marriage until her sudden passing in 1984. He later married Roberta (Bobbie) Eding who succumbed to Alzheimer disease. He spent the last 28 years of life with his soulmate, Carolyn Curl.
In 1993, he proudly retired from Fisher Body and moved to Mecosta, Michigan. Paul was a man of many talents. He enjoyed working with his hands, from repairing lawn mowers and cars, to tinkering tirelessly in his garage.
He was a proud family man, particularly when it came to his grandchildren: Jason Hayes, Danielle (Keegan) Guyer, Michael (Marianne) Hedin, II, Gavin Hedin, Kayla (Andrew) Moore, Preston Hedin, Garrett (Melanie) Hedin, and six great grandchildren.
Thank you Dad for instilling the value of a respectable work ethic, a charitable heart, and the love and importance of family.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation for the excellent and compassionate care provided by private homecare, Henry Ford Hospice, and Jackson Department on Aging.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024 at 12:00 pm at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 900 E. Michigan Ave. Lansing, Michigan 48912. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of service. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Dimondale, Michigan.
