Lorraine E. White

Lorraine E. White, born April 11, 1922 passed away January 13, 2017 at the feisty age of 94. She was preceded in death by two husbands; Wm. Benjamin Harrison and Victor C. White, as well as her recently deceased oldest daughter; Barbara Galvan.

She is survived by her three loving daughters; Shirley Averill, Connie Harvey, and Roselma Kiger. She is also survived by her two special caretakers, granddaughter; Lesa DeBoer and grandson; John Dunn who came running whenever she called. Also left behind are 5 other grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren.

The last two weeks of her life she was attended to by Heart Home Care. They did a great job and we are thankful for their assistance, allowing her to remain in her home.

Lorraine’s tenacity helped her triumph over the obstacles of life; assisting her in landing her first job as well as learning to drive at the age of 62. She was an active gym member into her 80’s and also enjoyed watching her family participate in numerous sports. This active lifestyle attributed to her sharp mental health and longevity. Lorraine kept us on our toes and she will be greatly missed.

Private services will be held January 17, 2017 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E Michigan Avenue, Lansing.
