Lisa was born on July 3, 1964 in Lansing, MI and passed away on April 28, 2021. She attended Grand Valley University and worked for USAir as a flight attendant. Soon after, she married the love of her life and together they raised three beautiful children. They took frequent trips and created countless memories in Siesta Key, FL, Harbor Springs, MI, and Italy.
In 2008, she kicked off a successful career as a real estate professional with Coldwell Banker Hubbell Briarwood. She was a Licensed Associate Broker and was voted Lansing’s Favorite Realtor by Lansing City Pulse. She ranked consistently for many years in the top 2-3% of Coldwell Banker Sales Associates worldwide. But ultimately, the most important thing to her was serving her clients well; so many turned into friends.
Lisa’s pride and joy was her family – whether it be supporting one of her kids at a sporting event, skiing with them at Nub’s Nob, hosting a party, endless devotion caring for her mother, or just calling to check in – she made everyone feel special. Lisa loved life and was everyone’s best friend. She was honest, generous, fearless, loyal, adventurous, blunt in the best way, and so much fun. She enjoyed all things Snoopy, gardening, traveling, TJ Maxx, and a good sandwich. Known to always be on the go, it was such a pleasant surprise when Lisa stopped over at a friend’s or family member’s house for a cup of coffee – also one of her most favorite things.
Lisa is preceded in death by her brothers William James Jr., “Jimmy” and Michael Duncanson and her in-laws, Frank and Ellen Fata. She is survived by her mother Ruth Duncanson and father William (Barb) Duncanson, loving husband Jerry and her three greatest treasures, Elana, Jimmy (Megan), and Joey. Lisa is also survived by her five sisters, Jean “Missy” Mocek, Bev Duncanson, Cathy (Bob) Cole, Janet (Geoff) Sweetsir, Jill (Mike) Respecki and Jerry’s siblings, Mary (Mike) Novello, Nick (Jen) Fata, Phil (Lori) Fata, David (Mary) Fata, Bob (Steph) Fata, as well as survived by 37 nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at St. Gerard Catholic Church on Monday 5-8pm. Mass of Christian burial will also be celebrated at St. Gerard Catholic Church on Tuesday at 10:30am followed by the Right of Committal at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Greater Lansing Foodbank or to BRCA research https://www.v.org/research/specialfunds/brca.
