Larry James Ripley

Larry was born on April 23, 1939 in Lansing, MI. He married Charlotta Warren on May 29, 1993.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 28 years; stepson Tony (Kara) Donaldson of Chicago, IL, grandchildren; Jeston Ripley of Lansing, MI and Luke and Shea Donaldson of Chicago, IL; and several loving nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; Lloyd and Gladys Ripley, brothers; Gary Ripley and Jerry Ripley, daughter; Diane Conklin, beloved cousin, Dave Mathews and nephew Lloyd Ripley.

Larry was born and raised in Lansing, MI and attended Everett High School. He enlisted in the army in 1958, serving in Germany. Larry worked at GM in Lansing for 30 years. He was a proud lifelong member of the American Legion.

Larry loved riding motorcycles, dancing, karaoke, fishing, hunting, traveling and making people laugh. He loved his cat, Casey Jones. Larry had a huge heart. Once you became his friend, you were a friend for life. He loved spending time with his grandson Luke and granddaughter Shea. Larry will be remembered as a jokester who loved to call people to remind them that they needed to call him. He will be missed by his family and many friends.

His service will be held April 5, 2022 at 12:00PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 900 E. Michigan Ave in Lansing, Michigan. Burial will be held at a later date.

Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service starting at 11:00AM.

Memorial Contributions in honor of Larry may be made to the Ripley family, or to a charity of one’s choice.
