You are truly missed. I will always remember you and your everlasting kindness to your staff, parents and students. If a child needed to talk to you, you were always there. I never heard you raise your voice or get angry. You always tried your very best, in every situation.

Dr. Harmon was the kindest, most supportive, most decent human being I’ve ever worked with in education.  I loved working with her and I will never forget how kind she was to me.  I wish there were more educators like her.  I will miss her forever

Dr. Harmon was one of the most kind, compassionate, understanding, and present people I have ever known.  Her presence was always calming, and she had a graceful way of reminding people that most things are not worth worrying about.  I feel lucky to have worked with (and for) her for several years.

I first worked with Kris as a colleague when she taught down the hall from me at Fisher Elementary 30 years ago.  Then, as a principal leader, she accompanied us on our annual 5th grade camping trips.  Finally, as a Curriculum Coordinator, with her heading many of the educational committees that we both served upon.  Looking back on the nearly three decades of working with Kris, there was one constant that has been corroborated by nearly every condolence that's been posted so far; her exceptionally kind spirit.  I am not sure if I have ever met someone in education or in life as genuinely compassionate as her.  It defined who she was at work and how she interacted with others.  Knowing her and working along side her was an absolute joy.  We not only need more people like her in education today, but also in our world.

Oh my gosh.  What can I say about Kris Harmon?  I love        
that lady.  I first met Kris at Jefferson where she taught my daughter.  I loved her mannerism and style plus she was teaching  a little Spanish to the kids, which later was very handy.  I was working at Addams and my principal left so I heard through the grapevine her replacement was Kris, but nothing official.  At end-of-the-year District Banquet we were on the dance floor and I asked her if she was going to be my new mommy, which was funny because we were not that far apart in age.  She was not going to spill  the beans so she just smiled and we kept dancing. When the news was official, I was elated.  We worked and laughed together, we were a great team.  We shared stories about our lives on and off through the days. Her  stories of her adventures out of the country were amazing!  She always had great advice especially having that psychology background.  She taught me a lot to use both at home and work.  We could tell each other everything. She was such a gentle, calm person. I used to tell people the roof could be falling down all around her and she would just calmly say I guess we need a new roof. She was always using her psychology in many principalship moments.I remember one time a teacher came in early fall and wanted a class list which was not available yet and teacher said well now what do I do?  In pure Kris Harmon fashion, she said I have things you could do for me, well that shut her up in a kind way.  When I heard she had gotten promoted I was so happy but so sad.  Those last days I had with her were rough, I could barely look at her without sobbing knowing she was leaving. Kris, I love you and think of you often and will continue. You were such a joy to be around.   She was ALWAYS, ALWAYS, there for her own children and they knew it and I am sure they will always remember those times. My  heart goes out to them as they will miss her greatly.   Kristina Harmon,  REST IN PEACE!

I knew Dr. Harmon when she was working for the  South Redford School District. She was a very kind and generous soul. As a School Social Worker, I worked with the homeless families in the district.  There were times when Dr. Harmon reached in her purse and gave me money to buy  families clothing. She was an angel on earth.
Rest In Peace, Dr. Harmon.  You will certainly be missed.

When I moved into an administrative position in South Redford, Kris was my Supervisor. She was incredibly supportive as I faced new challenges and was an encouraging ally.  Kris' positivity was such a generous gift to all of us.  She always lit up when she was going to visit her children and grandchildren.  My deepest sympathy to her family and friends.

Kris and I worked together at Fisher teaching 4th grade. Kris was a great support to me as I balanced career and parenthood.  I would enter her room early morning with whatever weighed heavily on my mind, as we prepared for the day. She always offered wisdom and fresh perspective which brought a sense of calm and focus to the day that lay ahead.  I am grateful to have worked with and called her a friend.

I shared many a WCRESA Curriculum Director meeting with Kristina.  She was kind, collaborative and always brightened the  room.  Her expertise in education was unparalleled, but her gentle and graceful  manner is how I will remember her most.

Kristen was a very loving and caring person. I had the privilege of being her cousin may God be with with the family in this difficult time.

Kris was a great boss and mentor with a patience like no one I've ever known. We bonded over our former Girl Scouting experiences and she was so supportive of our Girl Scout program at Jane Addams. Her love of our South Redford School students, staff, and families ran deep and she was a true treasure to us.  She truly made a difference in the lives of so many.

Dr. Harmon always came into my office with such a positive attitude. So very kind and soft spoken. I’m sure she will be missed by all.🙏

Kris was one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. We first met her first year with South Redford, she was my daughter’s 1st grade teacher and I had the privilege to be her room mother. 
She touched so many lives throughout her years in South Redford and I’m sure everywhere she went.
I was blessed to have her as a friend. Her family is in my thought and prayers.

I knew Kris in many different capacities through here tenure in South Redford. She was my colleague as I taught music to her fourth grade students, she was an administrator for my curriculum, she was a parent as I was her son’s band instructor, and a friend whose  daughter was one of our favorite babysitters for my 2 sons! In every situation, she was a beautiful person spreading wisdom, kindness, patience, and goodness to those she around her.

I am so sorry to hear about Kristine's passing.  We first met at Jefferson Elementary when she was our children’s 4th grade teacher.  She was a  fabulous teacher, soft spoken, caring, and so kind to all students.  We later worked together at the Administration Office at South Redford.  I loved all our conversations.  She spoke highly about her family.  I found her to have high integrity.  May your family be comforted by all your wonderful memories.

Chris was always a pleasure to talk to and work with. She’d greet you with a smile, welcome you to her building, and try to work out any difficulties in a positive manner. She will be missed.

I’m so very sorry to hear the news of Kris’s passing. I met her in the early 90’s when I started teaching at Jefferson. Talking to Kris always left me with a smile on my face. She was so positive and had a special way of making everyone feel valued and “heard.” I know this loss must be devastating, and I know you’ll miss her tremendously. I first met Kristina as principal of my son’s school, Addams Elementary, in 1999.  I really came to know her well when I started working at South Redford  in 2000.  Kris had wonderful stories of her life experiences, and we had many good conversations after hours at work.  Kris really cared about the success of all children in the district, and was always willing to do whatever it took to advocate for them by supporting the teachers that taught our children.   She spoke a lot about her daughter and grandkids.  She enjoyed spending time with them.  The photo above is a photo of some of the South Redford staff at my wedding.  I counted her as a friend, and really appreciated her support and friendship at South Redford.  Fly high, Kris, and rest easy.
