Born June 26, 1952 in Detroit; died December 10, 2021 in Lansing. He was “Kenny” as a child, “Ken” as a young adult, then used his middle name “Mack” for the rest of his life. He was brilliant, handsome and promising, when schizophrenia derailed his potential. Still, he lived with verve and a free spirit. He was authentic and generous. He achieved a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Michigan and served in the U.S. Navy. Predeceased by his parents, Norma and Kenneth L. Smith, he is survived by fiancé Vicki Sandbrook; sisters Jana Smith and Karen (Joe) Fielek; nephews Joe Fielek III (Ashley) and Peter Fielek; great-nephew Joe Fielek IV.
