Born December 28, 1933 in Lansing, the son of the late Joy A. and Doris (Orsborne) Brown, passed away September 19, 2012 at the age of 78. Ken served his country in the U.S. Army in Japan during the Korean Conflict. He also served with the U.S.P.F.O. in Lansing. He retired from the City of Lansing as the Deputy City Treasurer after many years of service. Ken enjoyed a wide variety of interest and activities. He was an avid reader, enjoyed bowling, obtaining his highest score of 297, playing Frisbee, going to the casino, gardening, watching the Tigers and the Wings, and researching family history to name a few. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother’s Donald and Robert. Ken will be dearly missed by those left to cherish his memory, best friend, Gloria; daughter, Beverly of Holt; sons, Robert of Kingman, AZ and Douglas of Lansing. Ken also treasured his relationships with his numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and neighbors. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, September 24, 2012 at Evergreen Cemetery in Lansing For those desiring contributions may be made to McLaren Greater Lansing Hospital, 401 W. Greenlawn, Lansing, MI 48910 or to the Capital Area Humane Society in memory of Ken. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the entire staff at McLaren ICU, especially Marty and Tiffany, whose loving care helped to make him comfortable in his final moments.
