Born March 30, 1924 in Detroit, MI, to Domenico and Whilomina (Bateman) Furci, Joseph passed away September 11, 2011 at the age of 87. Joseph was a veteran of WWII and served in the Pacific Theatre. A loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle he was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his daughter, Carri (John) Perry of DeWitt, MI; grandchildren, Connor and Joseph Perry; loving companion, Betty Cloar; brother, William Furci; sister, Marie Josephine (William) Schwan; nieces, Gina Johnsen and Linda (Robert) Dearman; nephew, James (Joy) Schwan and 8 great nieces and nephews. A giving man, Joe shared his love and life with his family and countless friends. An active athlete, Joe was an encyclopedia of Detroit’s sports history and a champion senior softball player. A funeral service will be held at Noon on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Roy J. Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores, MI. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5-9pm & one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Mt.
