Jean Lorraine

Betty Jean Lorraine passed away July 14, 2022 at the age of 92. Jean was born February 18, 1930 in Potterville, the daughter of Henry and Clara Pruden. She was a 1949 graduate of Charlotte High School. Jean worked at Consumers Power, as an O.R. Tech at Ingham Medical Center, an Instructional Aide at Lansing School District, and in the bakery at Meijer on S. Pennsylvania.

Jean was a longtime member of Pennway Church of God in Lansing, where she volunteered in the office. She enjoyed knitting, crosswords, and trivia. She loved watching game shows. Surviving are her children, John (Patricia) Lorraine of Lansing, Steven Lorraine of Lansing, and Carolyn (Jimmy) Payne of North Carolina; grandchildren, Jimmy Lorraine, Greg Lorraine, Jessye Davenport, Melissa Hughley, Zachary Payne, and Nicholas Payne; great-grandchildren, Ian Kinsey, Olivia Lorraine, Aiden Davenport, Ensley Lorraine, and Sophia Lorraine; brother, Ed Pruden of Lake CIty; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lorraine; siblings, Louanna Pruden, Robert Pruden, Frank Pruden, James Pruden, and Samuel Pruden.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 900 E. Michigan Ave with visitation from Noon until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
