Jayne Schumacher

Jayne Schumacher, 70, died October 29, 2014 in Lansing, MI. She was born on January 16, 1943 in Peru, Indiana to Donald and Ombra (Wise) Crawford. Jayne had a strong belief in God and a true passion for life; it showed in her good sense of friends and people in her life. She was very comforting to others. Jayne displayed her passion for small animals by supporting many charities. She also supported charities for healthcare. Jayne loved to decorate and was very talented in doing so. She was a true homemaker. Jayne loved nature and enjoyed planting and growing flowers. She had her own beauty salon in Peru, Indiana “The Mann Trapp” for many years. Jayne and Richard were married May 12, 1973 in Peru, Indiana at St. Charles Catholic Church. In 1975, Jayne and Richard moved to Traverse City and Jayne began working in the medical field. In 1989, they moved to Lansing and she worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Brad Eschler in Okemos for many years prior to retiring. Jayne is preceded in death by her father Donald A. Crawford; mother Ombra E. Crawford; sister Nancy Crawford; grandma Crawford; two uncles Gordon and Admiral Russell “Scrappy” Crawford. She is survived by her husband Richard Schumacher. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2014 at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, 955 Alton St, East Lansing, MI 48823 in the chapel officiated by Rev. Mark Inglot. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the church.
