Janet M. Gamble extended her wings on Saturday, May 19, 2012 and ended her 67 blessed years with us and is now soaring with our Lord in Heaven. Janet was the youngest of five children to be born to the family of Everett and Bernice French on September 12, 1944. She graduated from Mason High school in 1962 and worked for several years at Oldsmobile where she met her life-long friend and husband David J. Gamble. They shared 38 Years of marriage together before his death in 2005.
She was the very proud mother of Chad and Gina Gamble and Sara and Eric Darooge. She took pride in making a wonderful home for her family and often spoke of the family’s earlier years as having the “perfect family” complete with their long time family dog cuddles. Sebastian, her canine companion, kept her active and was excited to greet her at heaven’s door. She enjoyed crafts, especially painting; playing cards with friends, and attending the Nutcracker almost every holiday season.
She always enjoyed caring for, and feeling the overflowing love from her wonderful brothers and sisters; Betty Lou “Boo” (Jim) Cook, Phyllis (Jack) Martin and Alan French. Her brother Ron French and Sister-in-Law Gerrie are now happy to be reunited again with their sister.
Janet’s loud and contagious laugh and sense of humor will be missed at family gatherings especially from her many nieces, nephews and cousins. She enjoyed cruises, exploring the sea, reading books, eating and simply enjoying the hot sun.
Janet was particularly blessed to have six grandkids that were the light of her life and brought her immense joy. They will miss grandma but all are happy that she is now with Jesus.
Her last year here was made exceedingly comfortable with countless friends and relatives stopping by providing flowers, food and letting her know she was loved and being thought of.
Janet was a model of bravery, positive spirit and strength and was amazingly bereft of any complaints during her 18 month battle with lung cancer. She used her quick wit and sense of humor to lighten any mood and provide smiles and warmth to everyone.
The family invites you to honor her life at her visitation Wednesday May 23, 2012 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E.
