Jacqueline Anne Willoughby

Jacqueline Anne Willoughby was born September 8, 1938 to the late Mittie B. Spratt, and Jesse C. Willoughby. She has six siblings; Toya, Archie, Dale, Donna, Donald, and Carlton. Jacqueline was preceded in death by her three brothers. She attended Lansing Public Schools.

Jacqueline met and married Donald Edward Williams, and to this union six children were born. They had five girls and one son, twins; Sharon and Sharol, Patricia, Vonda, Bruce, and Jacquelyn. They divorced in 1973. She later went on to meet and marry Freeman Johnson, and to this union one son was born, Kevin.

Jacqueline raised her children to be GOD fearing. She joined and raised her children in Christ Temple of Lansing, under Elder William Warren, who was the pastor. She loved to bowl, cook, shop, and watch movies. She was on two bowling leagues; one an all women league, and one co-ed league, at Royal Scott Lanes in Lansing, MI. She was in the Lansing State Journal twice for bowling a “300”, which is a perfect score. She loved to cook, she would say, “I like to cook for people who like to eat, and then watch them enjoy their food.” Her favorite stores were Hudson’s, J. C. Penny’s, and 5,7,9 in the Lansing Mall. Her favorite color was green. She was colorblind but she said she picked green because it’s the color of money.

Jaqueline’s first job was at J. C. Penny’s and she later retired from Value City; both in Lansing. After she retired, she became a Foster Grandparent. She worked at Gardner Middle School and the Boys and Girls Club, in their Foster Grandparent program. At the 40th Anniversary of the Foster Grandparent Program of Eaton, Ingham, and Livingston counties, they presented her with the service award, “Years of Service 2007-2011”.
