Irene Cappelletti

Irene was born on October 27, 1935 to Bertha and Clarence Blackwell in DeRidder, Louisiana. After graduating from DeRidder High School in 1953, Irene met Robert Cappelletti on a military base in Quantico, VA in 1955. They fell in love and married a few short months after meeting.

Irene and Robert were married for 68 years and had five children: Deborah Grescowle, Robert Cappelletti, Gina Cappelletti, Donna Coscarelli and Richard Cappelletti. Irene is survived by her husband, five children, eight grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.

In her later years, after dedicating herself as a stay-at-home mom, Irene Cappelletti embarked on a new chapter of her life by becoming a Banker at LAFCU, for over 40 years. She also loved to cook, play cards with her children and grandchildren, laugh with her sisters, and deliver great one-liners.

The Celebration of Life will be held at 2323 Lyman Drive, Lansing, MI 48912. This is in the home where Irene lived for many years and raised her family. Friends and family are invited to remember a life that was truly a gift to us all, between 4-7PM, on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.
