Ina Schmid

On December 14th, Ina left this life to be greeted with open arms by her loved ones who preceded her. She is now reunited with the love of her life, husband Alwin Schmid; her parents, Leonard and Lena Kaufman; and her only son, Len A. Smith.

Ina left her position at Delta Airlines to work as a Travel Agent for many years. Others may remember her as a friendly, smiling face greeting customers at West Side Pharmacy.

Ina was born on May 1, 1932 in E. Saint Louis, IL. She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie B. Smith; step-daughters, Peggy (Laverda) Schmid and Karen Davis; Grandsons, Jason (Michelle) Smith, Ryan (Jessie) Smith, Paul (Amanda) Smith; granddaughter, Paige Smith; precious great-grandsons, Keagan, Kaden, Drew, and Mason; brother, Lloyd (Sarah) Kaufman; sister, Mildred Behrendt; and faithful companions, Fluffy and Murphy.

Her humor and laughter will ring in our hearts forever. She was a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to be treasured.

Funeral Service will be 3:30 PM Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw Street with Pastor Roger Straub officiating. Visitation will be Friday 3-7 PM at Tiffany Funeral Home. Gifts in Ina?s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society. The family is being served by Tiffany Funeral Home.
