Howard Allen Maxwell

Howard Allen “Beanie” Maxwell passed away Monday, January 6, 2014 in his sleep at the age of 65. He is survived by his mother, Eleanor, and his three siblings: Sandy, Tia (Ken), and John (Nancy). He was the beloved uncle of Ryann (Eric), Daniel, Jason, and Whittney. Allen spent three summers in the Canadian Arctic working with his father, Moreau S. Maxwell, during archaeological trips. He enjoyed spending summers working at Teysen’s Restaurant in Mackinaw City and working for forty years at Michigan State University in Case Hall. Simply put, Allen knew everybody. He was an avid traveler and a friend to all he came in contact with. He will be remembered for his kind spirit and beautiful personality. He will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 122 S. Pennsylvania Ave. on Saturday, May 10th at 2pm. Coffee and cookies after the service. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to do so might make a contribution to the Ingham County Animal Shelter or local Humane Society in Allen's name. The family is being served by Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel.
