Harold Holliday, 85, passed away on September 11, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 21, 1933 in Hazard, Kentucky to Green and Naomi Holliday. He was married to the love of his life Geraldine (Davidson) Holliday for 53 years. His greatest joy in life, aside from this wife, was spending time with his family and having them visit his home in Florida. He was proud to work in the food industry and was an incredible chef. He served as a cook in the U.S. Airforce. Early in his career he worked at Casa Nova (Falsettas) Restaurant, followed by the Michigan State Police Academy where he retired after many years as their Food Service Supervisor.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Geraldine; 5 brothers; 4 sisters; and grandson Antonio Aguirre. He is survived by his three daughters, Sandra (Hector) Aguirre, Patricia (Mark) Lewis, Donna (Tom E) Mulder, and son Peter (Sandy) Holliday; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Douglas (Ruth) Holliday; sisters-in-law, Jean Holliday, Lori Holliday, and Billie Faye (Davidson) Pratt; and many special nieces and nephews.
The family would like to especially thank the staff at Eaton County Health and Rehabilitation Center of Charlotte, Michigan for their care over the past 15 months. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund (JDRF), or the Alzheimer’s Association. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 17, 2018 at 11:00 AM with visitation one-hour prior from 10:00–11:00 AM, all at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing, Michigan.
