I’m saddened by the loss of Harry. He treated me like he had known me all my life, and I wish he had. Harry changed me in a very slight but profound way, like a missing small link in a chain.  He even brought me closer to old friends by becoming that common link that has tied us together for a lifetime.  Harry, I know you are in the care of our Lord and I will see you again soon.

The gang and I at Grand Woods park will truly miss Hal. I'll greatly miss seeing him first thing in the morning, walking his dog Sailor. He was an eternal optimist, and would brighten the cloudiest of days. He was a fixture at the park. Someone told me that he'd walked the trails there over 15,000 times over the years. I wonder how many pairs of shoes he went through? He & I would talk about our shared passion for the outdoors, our dogs, and sometimes talk about that crazy guy in the corner house that would come out to yell at us for having our dogs off-leash. Heaven is surely a happier place now that Hal has arrived, and I hope to see him again one day when it's my turn to pass through those Pearly Gates.  

Rest in Peace, Hal. You've graced many with your sunny outlook.

One of the fun times we had was calling him up and asking if we could come and visit him for awhile.  Mary Jane and I would pick up lunch at  one of his favorite restaurants, Chic Filet, and bring it to his house to enjoy prior to his early afternoon nap.  He always said to make sure we bring Lilly, our dog, with us.  He enjoyed reminescing about the past and what was going on in his family.  We will miss those Friday afternoon get to gethers whenever we think of him.  May he rest in peace knowing how much he was loved by so many family and friends.  We know we shall see him again someday.
