Ester Ramirez

Ester Ramirez, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on May 5, 2023, at the age of 90 surrounded by her family. She was born October 29, 1932, in LaFeria, Texas to Jose and Jesusa Presas. Ester moved to Ohio in 1952 where she met the love of her life and married. She spent 26 years in Ohio, working and raising her children before moving to Lansing, Michigan in 1978 after her spouse retired. Ester is preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Genaro Ramirez, her sister Lydia Urbina, and brother Arturo Presas.

Ester was a devoted, loving mother to her children Emma (Daniel) Sanchez, Genaro Jr. (Marilyn) Ramirez, Albert (Deb) Ramirez, Maria (Don) Duprest, Joe Ramirez, Eddie (June) Ramirez and Odelia (Rey) Renteria. She was a loving grandmother to 18 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by 4 sisters, Eva, Dalia, Oralia and Dora and 2 brothers Gilberto and Juan.

Ester was a wonderful homemaker and devoted her life to her children and grandchildren. Ester was known for her incredible cooking. Her family always looked forward to gathering around her table to enjoy her delicious meals. Ester instilled family traditions that will be carried on for generations to come. Ester spent her past time knitting, sewing and was an avid gardener. Ester took great pride in her beautiful flowers and vegetables.

Ester will be deeply missed by her family. Her love and kindness will be remembered forever.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at Gorsline-Runciman Tiffany Chapel, 3232 W. Saginaw St., Lansing, MI 48917 at 12:00 pm to celebrate her life and legacy.
