Eleanor Julia Odle

Odle, Eleanor J., age 92, May 17, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Robert. Dear mother of Rhonda (Douglas) Campbell, Michael (Lori) and Susan (Steven) Lewis and preceded in death by her sons Bobby and Jeff. Proud grandmother and great grandmother of many.

Eleanor grew up in Flint, Michigan and was a 1948 graduate of Northern High School. Soon after graduation, she attended a military dance where she met the love of her life, Robert Odle. The two were wed on September 16, 1950 and happily spent 59 years together until Robert’s passing in 2009. They happy couple started their family in Flint and in 1971 moved to Lansing. Eleanor was kept busy raising the five children, but once they moved on and started their own families, she found new ways to keep busy. She became a volunteer in the blood bank for the American Red Cross. They loved Eleanor so much they offered her a job as their secretary, retiring in 2009.

Eleanor was a devout Catholic and raised her family in a Catholic household. She also adored her family and did everything she could for them. She enjoyed taking the children camping and on adventures. They recalled how much their mother loved to paint and that she was an amazing baker.

The family plans to have services for Eleanor privately.
