Dorothy Lucille Gillis

Dorothy was born to Lester and Carrie (Rouse) Stebbins. She graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Lansing in 1946, from there she went on to work for the State of Michigan as a clerk and then worked for Ingham County Lansing School District in cafeteria services. Soon after she graduated high school, she met and married the love of her life, Jack E. Gillis and the two were married in 1950.

Dorothy was a proud member of Resurrection Catholic Church since 1950. A few things that Dorothy loved was being a member of the Falcon Car Club, reading books, completing crossword puzzles and word searches, but most of all time with her family and her Friday nights out with Jack at La Senorita.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Carrie Stebbins; Husband, Jack Gillis; Brothers, Don, Fred, Lauren, and Dick; and her grandson Nate.

Dorothy is survived by her Sons, Edward (Barb) Gillis, Jim (Bonnie) Gillis; Daughter Susan (Greg) McLeod; Sister, Pauline Stebbins; Brother, Ivan (Henri) Stebbins; and 11 grandkids and 16 great grandkids.
