Donna Jean Watkins

Donna Jean Watkins (Dewey) age 84, from Mason, Michigan was reunited with the love of her life, husband Arby in Heaven on March 20th, 2024. Donna was born on July 18, 1939, the daughter of Harold and Alice Dewey. Arby and Donna were married for 56 years and raised 4 children together.

Donna was a wonderful loving, mother and wife. She was a homemaker and caregiver, and she owned and operated the Uppercrust Bread Factory in Delta Township. She was active in her church and was very supportive of Christian missions.

Donna was an amazing baker and cook. She always loved having her home filled with family for holidays, and friends from church, and hosted church luncheons in her home. In later years Donna enjoyed her time with her special dog, Bella, watching cooking shows, reading her favorite books, doing word puzzles, and trips to Bronners.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Alice Dewey; her father and mother-in-law, Orrin and Boboline Watkins, and her brother, Ronald Dewey.

Donna is survived by her children, Mark (Kathy) Watkins of Newport Oregon, Cherisse (Dave) Winkle of Leslie MI, Heidi (Andy) Mathews of Bath Michigan, and Dewey (Brenna) Watkins of Ionia, Michigan; grandchildren, Jimi (Kendra) Alward, Mitch Alward, Tyler Watkins, Regan Watkins, Dane Watkins, Abby Read, Samantha Watkins, Mylee Read, and Trevor Mathews, and five great-grandchildren.

Celebration of life to be planned and put into place at a future date. In Memory of Donna, the family is asking for donations to be sent to Samaritan’s Purse as this cause was very near and dear to Donna's heart.
