Donald was a P02 in the United States Navy as a type setter. He went on to work for Oldsmobile in tool & dye machine repair.
It was in that time that Donald married the love of his life Helen (Riley) and the two were married June 4, 1949 and went on to raise their 4 kids in Lansing, MI. If anyone was lucky enough to know Donald, you would know he was the definition of a Mr. Fix It, his love for dancing of any kind, especially polka or square dancing with his wife Helen. A few other things Donald loved was throwing parties, fishing, wood working, western/country music, and camping all over the US with Helen, but his biggest love of all was his family.
Survived is his wife of 72 years, Helen (Riley) Hogan, children; Linda (Ken) Beck, Michael (Susan) Hogan, Christine Hogan, and Donald (Jami) Hogan Jr, two brothers Jim Slocum and Chuck Slocum, sister-n-law Gloria (Riley) Butler, and many grand, great, and great great grandkids.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Sparrow of Hospice for their loving and caring hearts.
A memorial service date is to be announced at a later time.
