Dennis Roy Sleep, age 77, went home to be with the Lord on November 12, 2021. He was born in Lansing, Michigan on December 21, 1943. Dennis was a great provider for his family and worked in the automotive industry at Fisher Body for 37 dedicated years. He was a longtime member of Parker Memorial Baptist Church and had a great love for the Lord.
Dennis enjoyed being outdoors: camping, hunting, fishing, and collecting golf balls. He liked whittling on wood to make walking sticks, spending winters in Florida, karaoke, attending his children and grandchildren's sports. He was a compassionate Husband, Dad, Papa, Brother, Uncle, and Friend. Dennis had the "gift of gab" and we look forward to having many more conversations with him in Heaven someday. Our loss is great, but God's grace is greater!
Left behind to mourn his loss is his beloved wife, Bernadine (Dye) of 57 years; his son, Dennis Craig (Kim) Sleep; his daughters, Cindy Sleep and Cresha (Kevin) Donnelly; his precious grandchildren, Madyson (Rich) Williams, Kailey Sleep, Caden and Colton Donnelly; a great-grandchild arriving soon; his siblings, Larry Sleep, Diana Smith, and Joanne Cook; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Ann; his parents, Ken and Margaret Sleep; sister-in-law, Terry Sleep, and recently, brother-in-law, Ralph Cook.
Visitation is from 12:00pm until time of funeral service at 1:00pm on Friday, December 17, 2021 at South Church, 5250 Cornerstone Drive, Lansing. Dr. William Tabor officiating. Live stream the service at southlife.org/funeral
