Dave was an adamant sports fan, especially Michigan State Spartans. He enjoyed watching anything with a ball, puck, or wheels. His favorite teams were Detroit Lions, Redwings, and Tigers. One of Dave's favorite places to be was at the race track. When he was younger, he enjoyed the thrill of driving in the demolition derby. God was a major role in Dave's life and he was a longtime member of the St. Gerard Catholic Church.
Surviving are his nephew, Christopher (Melanie Rasmussen) Habek; niece, Tracey (Nicholas) Powelson; cousin, Velma Bendekovish Drinkard; lifelong friends, Alan Niznak and Bill Hussey. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Ronald Habek and Michael Habek.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM, with a one-hour prior visitation from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at St. Gerard Catholic Church, Father Bob Bacik presiding. The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
