Daphne Renee Graham – Age 57, was surrounded by love from her family as she passed away peacefully after a brave battle with cancer on March 13, 2019. She was born on October 15, 1961 in Los Angeles, California and since her early childhood years made her home in Lansing. She was a graduate of J.W. Sexton High School and continued to further her education by earning college degrees in Transportation Management, Business Management and Medical Assistance. She worked as a business manager for her father’s trucking company, George Graham Transport. She also enjoyed volunteering for the United Way while briefly residing in Marquette, Michigan. Throughout her lifetime, Daphne developed a strong relationship with Jesus Christ. She is a former member of Mask Memorial CME Church and also St. Matthews AME Church where she was a diligent servant for several years. She made her final church home at New Jerusalem Church where she always felt encouraged to keep the faith. Daphne recently expressed that she had no fear of leaving this world behind but she also loved life and lived it her way and to the fullest. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family and always made it her mission to lift someone else up and bring them along on the journey wherever she was going. Daphne is survived by her parents, George Graham (Mary), Gloria Johnson (Jordan); long-time companion, Oliver Barnes; brothers, Kristopher Graham (Gerri), Jacques Graham (Iris), Jordan M. Johnson (Elizabeth), Eric Johnson (Darcy) and Craig Johnson; sisters, Deborah Johnson, Renee Robertson and Pam Hegmon; son, Kayle Graham (Chelsey); daughter, Kelli Graham Oele (Simba); grandsons, Kyreese Demps and Kayle Graham Jr.; granddaughter, Karionna Graham; great aunt, Claudine Walker; aunts, Linda Webster, Lillian Scott and Mary Ann Jack; uncles, Michael Rainge and Lieutenant Colonel Ronnie Rainge MD; several nephews, nieces, cousins and a multitude of friends worldwide. She was truly a blessing on this earth and will surely be missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, March 21, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 West Saginaw Street, Lansing, Michigan, and on Friday, March 22, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Baptist Church, 3125 West Miller Road, Lansing Michigan, with funeral service and burial immediately following. Interment will follow at East Lawn Memory Gardens.
