Cynthia A. Danby lost her hard fought battle with cancer on September 22, 2015. She was born on July 16, 1950 in Lansing to the late Richard J. and Tanya M. (Kornechuk) Danby. Cynthia had been employed at Sparrow Hospital for 40 years. She was a graduate of Gabriel’s High School. Cynthia was preceded in death by her father Richard Danby; first husband Phillip Mero; sister Marcia (Danby) Bowser; and second husband Brian Geisenhaver. She is survived by her mother Tanya (Kornechuk) Danby; sisters Sandra (Dave) Dunham, Tamara (Glen) Davis, and Tanya (Edward) Voorheis; brothers Neil (Jean) Danby, Bryan (Sue) Danby, and Daniel Danby; children Charles (Tara) Mero, Rachel (George) Berry, and Sonya Geisenhaver; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. Cynthia lived for her work, and for her family. Her position as Administrative Assistant to the Pediatric Intensivists was very special to her as she enjoyed knowing that she was a part of the process in helping abused children. Cynthia's love for her family is beyond words. There is nothing she would not do for any of her children, or her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading science fiction, crocheting, and was also known as the "crazy cat lady"!! Service will be held Saturday October 3, 2015. Visitation will be held from 1-2, a memorial ceremony at 2, at Gorsline Runciman on Michigan Ave in Lansing.
