Cruz found joy in dancing and listening to conjunto music, knitting and crocheting, and going to the movie theatre. She also delighted in cozy evenings spent watching Hallmark movies. However, her greatest joy came from spending time with her beloved grandchildren. Cruz cherished every moment spent watching her grandkids and created memories with them that will be treasured forever.
Cruz is survived by her loving children: Elissa (Lorenzo) Castilla, Consuelo (Alex) Trujillo, Isabel Escojido, and Monica Lara. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to her grandchildren: Alexis, Olivia, Marcos, Lorenzo, Liliana, and Gabriela. Cruz is also survived by her sisters: Maria Luisa (Genaro) Lam, Ramona (Antonio) Martinez, and Oralia (Juan) Claudio; her brother, Vicente (Rosa) Landeros Sr.; brother-in-law, Roberto Martinez Sr.; sister-in-law, Carmen Landeros; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Francisco Escojido; her siblings: Gloria Lozano, Olga Landeros, Maria Elena Martinez, and Antonio Landeros Sr.; and her parents, Luis and Adela Landeros.
A memorial service for Cruz will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 11:00 AM, with a one-hour prior visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Gorsline Runciman Tiffany Chapel, 3232 West Saginaw St., Lansing, MI 48917.
Cruz was a vibrant soul known for her sassiness and unwavering warrior spirit. She embraced life with passion and joy, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her. To honor Cruz's vibrant spirit, those attending her service are encouraged to wear her favorite color, yellow.
