Christina Marie Algra

Christina will be cremated. Memorial plans in celebration of her life will be announced Spring 2019, when her brother Jason is expected to return home.

Christina was born in Lansing to Sidney Richard Algra and Diana Veronica Rodriguez Algra on May 31, 1984. She was the youngest sibling with three older protective brothers and learned early on the importance of loyalty, compassion, and service to others. Christina attended Lansing Catholic Central High School and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Michigan State University. Christina loved Baskin Robbins ice cream, roller coasters, sappy girl bands ranging from Dixie Chicks to Katy Perry, and boring food (unless it was Carrabba’s Chicken Bryan). She was a brave and beautiful soul, devoted dogma to her fur baby Bosco, loving daughter, spunky niece, soul sister, best friend, confidant, and loyal friend to many. She was everyone’s Teener and will be remembered for her warm heart, selfless attitude and contagious smile.

Christina is preceded in death by her father, Sidney.

Christina is survived by her fur baby Bosco of Lansing; mother Diana of New York City; brothers Richard S. Algra of Washington, DC, Jason R. Algra of Lansing, Paul C. (Linh) Algra of Newbury Park, California; niece Keira Algra; nephew Maddox Algra; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice House of Mid-Michigan, 1210 W Saginaw St, Lansing, MI 48915.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Erin Poff, Aime Shore, and Kathy Cole for their friendship and caring heart during the last six months. The family would also like to thank Karen and Jennifer, Hospice House of Mid-Michigan, for their loving and special care of Christina during her illness while at home with her family. Lastly, the family is deeply touched and grateful for all of the support and prayers given by family and friends. No amount of words can describe how our hearts were touched by everyone’s healing thoughts and selfless actions.
