Bruce was born on September 20, 1962, the son of Harold LeRoy Peterson and Marie Louise Peterson (Coullard). He attended grade school and church on Sundays at Holy Cross and spent his youth in the Boy Scouts. He found his love for radio broadcasting at Harry Hill and graduated from Sexton High School in 1980. Later in life he spent time broadcasting on Lansing radio for Haslett Motorcycles and Lansing Gardens. Bruce spent many years working at Kendall Electric.
Bruce met his loving wife, Tammy, when he was 21 years old. They married on April 28, 2000 and spent 22 years happily married. They spent their time walking at Grand Woods Park, going on bike rides through the city and park trails, and meeting up with friends for pizza at DeLuca’s.
They fondly reminisced of their past travels including their trip to Sault Ste Marie where they walked across the International Bridge and enjoyed the famous boat tour through the Soo Locks. Bruce enjoyed taking the ferry from Ludington to Minnesota where they visited the Minnesota Zoo and Mall of America. Bruce loved driving to Pennsylvania to visit relatives and making the most of life by attending as many baseball games as possible at different parks and attending concerts frequently. He cared deeply for Tammy and their cat, Butterscotch, as well as their three dogs: Daisy, Hercules, and Zeus. Bruce was a supportive husband, he taught Tammy how to drive and encouraged her to pursue a career as a nurse’s assistant. Bruce enjoyed racing the firebird at the Summit and watching football, especially the Dallas Cowboys. He shared his love for music with others by handing out Halloween records during pumpkin season.
Bruce is preceded in death by his father, Harold LeRoy Peterson, mother, Marie Louise Peterson (Coullard), uncle and godfather, Raymond Coullard, aunt, Lois Davenport, maternal grandmother, Lucille Coullard, and paternal grandmother, Emegene Gibson.
