Brenda met her husband Morris in Lansing, Michigan and were later married in 1969. She spent many years of her life dedicated to raising their five children. Throughout their lives she spent time as a volunteer Girl Scout leader for her daughters. Brenda spent over 24 years working in East Lansing, as the office manager for The Prime Housing Group, where she eventually retired from in 2014. She really enjoyed the special friendships she formed with her coworkers there.
She very much enjoyed gardening and maintaining her plants and flowers inside and outside of their home. For those who had the pleasure of sampling her delicious baked goods or homemade meals, they would all agree that her cooking skills were beyond compare. She especially enjoyed the holidays, as she looked forward every year to gatherings at her home with her children and grandchildren for Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. The amount of food was never in short supply and often the kids would fight over the leftovers. Brenda enjoyed books and reading, along with summer days lounging on her float in the pool.
Brenda’s greatest legacy is her family, she leaves them with lessons of unconditional love, a playful spirit, and the ability to invest in others. Her family would like to give special thanks to all of the caregivers, nurses, doctors, & others who assisted in her care during her final days at Sparrow Hospital. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations can be made in honor of Brenda to the Sparrow Foundation.
