

Billie C. Johnson, age 89, of Holt, MI formerly of Davison, MI and Dexter, MO, passed away on February 1, 2016. He was born December 21, 1926 in Dexter, MO the son of Mary Helen Daniels. Billie served in the U.S Army during the end of WWII. Following the war he attended Southeast Missouri State University, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry. While he was a student there he met his wife, Emmagene Heflin. They started their life together moving to Akron, Ohio where he worked for Goodrich Tire. They then moved to Flint, Michigan where Billie worked as a chemist for AC Delco. He retired from there after 40 years of employment. Following retirement, he pursued his love of gardening and photography. Ten years ago he and Emmagene moved to Holt, Michigan to help care for their grandson, Michael. In his last years he was lovingly cared for by his grandson, Christopher. Billie was preceded in death by his stepfather, George Earl Daniels; mother, Mary; son, John Michael Johnson; daughter, Mary Virginia Foster. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Emmagene; daughter, Bethany (Jeffrey) Judge; six grandchildren, Erik (Theresa) Kreiner, Amy Kreiner, Jared Kreiner, Christopher Johnson, John Johnson and Michael Judge; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services remembering Billie’s life will be held at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Dr. Harold DeMott officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Lansing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday for one hour prior to the service.
