Barbara Ann Wheeler

Age 59, passed away Friday, March 21, 2014 at Sparrow Hospital under the loving care of her family. She was born March 1, 1955 in Owosso, MI the daughter of Edward and Helen (Kuchar) Tanner and they precede her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Shelly Walter and brother, Rick Tanner. Barb married Michael Wheeler on July 19, 1975 in Cadillac, MI. She earned her Associate's Degree in Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse. She was most recently working for Inovalon, a healthcare data analytics company. Barb was so full of life and spirit and loved to make people laugh. She treasured spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling to Northern Michigan, especially Mackinaw Island and enjoyed the company of her beloved dog, Clyde. Survivors include Michael, her loving husband of 38 years, daughter Brianne Wheeler, son, Christopher Wheeler; grandchildren, Alaina and Avary Wheeler; siblings: Sharon (Daniel) McKeown, Patricia (Clayton) Smith, Thomas Tanner, Jackie (Ric) Osborn, Jeanne Tanner, Greg (Pennie) Tanner, Jim (Heidi) Tanner, Jana Tanner and several nieces and nephews. Her family will celebrate her life on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Catholic Community of St. Jude in DeWitt with Father Robert Irish officiating. Memorial contributions in memory of Barb may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Arrangements are entrusted to Tiffany Funeral Home, Lansing.
