She was predeceased by her husband, Maynard Cornell (2013); daughter, Melanie (Cornell) Bond (2018); son-in-law, Harvey Bond (2022); and her siblings, Doris, Bruce, John, Dean, Paul, Jean, and Kay. Ann is survived by her loving children, Jennifer Cornell, Jeffrey Cornell, and Cynthia Cornell; her grandchildren, Meilani Williams (Brad Keiffer), Jamie Williams (Eric Henderson), and Daniel Bond (Morgan); and her great-grandchildren, Charlie Vashon, Qi'Airra Williams, Davon Doxie, Kamarri Doxie, Kameia Doxie, Sa'Riyah Henderson, Annabeth Bond, and Bindi Bond. Also surviving are two of nine siblings, David Utz, Carlton (Gail) Utz; her beloved sister-in-law, Judie (Jackman) Utz; and many nieces and nephews.
Ann was born in Hastings, MI in 1934 and raised in the Jackson area, graduating in 1951 from Jackson High School. She married Maynard in 1952 and they moved to Lansing where Ann was a stay-at-home mom to their four children and several foster children.
Ann and Maynard celebrated 60 years of marriage. They enjoyed many years of fellowship at First United Brethren in Christ church in Lansing and the Amphi Bible Church during their winters in Tucson. Ann joined the fellowship of Calvary Baptist Church in her last ten years. They were active for many years with Friends of Bancroft Park and Northtown Neighborhood Assn.
A funeral service for Ann will be held Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 1:00 PM, with a two-hour prior visitation from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 East Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI 48912. Following the service, Ann will be laid to rest in East Lawn Memory Gardens, 2400 Bennett Rd., Okemos, MI 48864.
