Alford Eugene Peabody

Al was born to Ford Peabody and Viola Amy (Hanna) Peabody on December 14, 1925, in Birmingham, Michigan. He was the second of three sons. Upon graduating from high school in 1943 he enlisted in the Army-Air Force and served his country in World War II until his honorable discharge in 1946.

Al married Bettie Jane (York) Peabody on October 7, 1950, in Lansing, Michigan and together they raised five children. He began working in 1950 for Motor Wheel in Lansing and retired in 1988 after 38 years of employment.

Al is survived by his spouse of 73+ years Bettie Peabody, his children Russell (Camilla) Peabody, Bruce (Juaise dec.) Peabody, Sandra Peabody, Susan (Ronald dec.) Kleinfelt, and Gary (Eileen) Peabody; grandchildren Mitchell Peabody, Matthew Peabody, Michael Peabody, Andrew Peabody, Jenna (James) Nixon, and Alexander (Bryanna) Peabody; and great-grandchild Caden Peabody.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers and their spouses Frank (Margaret) Peabody and Ralph (Delores) Peabody.

Al will be cremated and there will be no service. A Celebration of Life gathering will take place at a date in the future.
