Stephanie Martha Smith

Teppy was born the only child of Arthur and Hope Noke in North York Ontario and grew up in Scarborough where she spent her school years. She loved the outdoors and many sports, excelling in figure skating. She spent many happy years going to the family cottage at Six Mile Lake in Muskoka and she visited there each summer up until August of 2021. She managed one final visit that year to be among her many friends and family even though she was stricken with her diagnosis of a brain tumor.

Teppy attended the University of Guelph earning a diploma in Municipal Recreation in 1965. She worked in a girl's reform school for one year after graduation before returning to Guelph where she worked in a lab. During her studies at Guelph she met Gary and they were married in Scarborough December 27, 1965.

When Gary graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1966 the couple moved to British Columbia.

They worked in Chilliwack for one year before moving to Surrey where they jointly operated the Allondale Animal Hospital (1967- 1987) and Fraser Heights Animal Hospital (1987-2021). Combined with running an animal hospital, raising three kids, skiing on the weekends and flying to her cottage in Ontario, Teppy was best known for her parties, decorations, and food preparations. Her three homes have containers filled with decor for each event. Christmas was her favorite. She also worked on several charities raising thousands of dollars for cancer research and the local hospital.

Teppy is survived by her three children, Alexander (Shelley), Byron (Jennifer) and Madeline (Adrian). She has 8 grandchildren; Anikka, Mikaela, Emilia, Summer, Isaac, Victoria, Lumen, and Cypress and one great granddaughter Blair. She loved all those kids and they loved her back.

A Celebration of Life is planned for November 20, 2022 at 6:00 PM at Newlands Golf and Country Club in Langley. Flowers are declined and alternatively we suggest a charity of your choice.
