I hide among you.
Laugh when you laugh.
Nod when you nod.
And you don’t really know me.
Just another person that pass you by on the street.
Chances are we will never meet.
You’ll never know I’m super deep and really neat.
But I’ll still be around, waiting to be found.
Shooting Stars
Would you catch a star for love?
Once upon a time, I stood bright among the dark.
My light led to careless laughter and fun,
Slowly my light faded, dull in hue, it had become,
Dull like the person I had become.
Soon there was no light at all,
And into the deep blackness of space the star fell.
Weeping silently, it plummeted toward the cold distant planet,
For a faint moment, the falling comet would shine,
Bright as it had ever shone before,
As it burned up in the atmosphere.
In the blink of an eye you could have missed it,
Its fiery last call for help.
And say as if it had never been at all.
That is why falling stars are visible for a split second,
They hope against hope that that their light will be seen,
And that someone will catch them.
And put them close to their heart,
And again make their fire start.
So that again they can shine bright,
Bringing joy, love, and laughter to all those near their light.
Jesus In Your Backyard
You’re in the house, tired and praying
In your prayers, you’re endlessly scheming
You’re the sinners he is redeeming.
God’s voice he is hearing and receiving
The crowds are jeering and screaming
The people are talking and mocking
Somewhere Jesus will be walking.
Life isn’t so bad,
When there is someone else who is sadder.
Just look outside, it isn’t so hard.
Jesus is in your backyard.
The holy spirit is out, in the heart of man
You can hear them shout, that they know what life about.
When they covet what they can.
Ignoring God’s plan.
Jesus is dying out in the snow.
Shivering as the freezing wind blows.
In his eyes you can see that he know,
People will do what they can, to save their immortal souls
As long as it doesn’t, in the wallet, make any holes.
Around him, everything is bought and sold.
He’s surrounded by the crowd, but alone in the cold.
Two thousand years ago the story is the same.
People will find someone else to lay the blame.
When they could be doing what they should,
Holding out a hand,
To help the fallen stand.
And if the bum is starving in the street.
He could be Jesus lying at your feet.
You could help him out of the cold.
Or you could walk on by.
And like Jesus he could die.
Wondering, how can say they care.
When they have so much, but never share.
Crucified by circumstance, and nobody giving him a chance.
Dying on his cross,
The multitudes of people stand by,
Without batting an eye.
Science
We can change your DNA,
And take weaknesses away.
If you don’t like your face, or know your place,
We can change your race just incase.
You won’t have to fear,
About the loved ones you hold so dear.
They’ll always be near.
They’ll live longer and stronger in style.
Forgotten we’ll be the word senile.
We’ll eradicate disease: no more cancer or AIDS.
All our organs will be man made.
The grim reaper will remain unpaid.
Faith is blind and so unkind.
They say our Father will give us our daily bread.
What about the billions unfed?
It goes without being said;
We’ll make sure there’s food to spare.
So you can sleep happily in your bed, without a care.
You can imagine heaven in your head,
But you’ll never see heaven till your dead.
That’s only if you read the Bible everyday,
Even then you might end up in hell anyway,
If you believe what the Jehovah witnesses say.
With Science, Earth will be heaven some day.
It is said God is loving and understanding.
Then why are people needlessly crying and dying?
The reality is God not there to stop the pain everywhere.
We make the unfair, fair.
Science is caring; science is sharing.
An alliance of minds and ideas of all kinds.
In the future, who can say what science finds.
Today the stars seem impossibly far away.
Someday they’ll be a place where we play.
We’ll travel farther then the heavens high.
You just have to continue asking, “Why?”
A Blank Page
It’s a final chance,
To turn back the wheels of fate,
It may not be too late …
So listen well pretty girl,
Pay attention to every detail, you can never tell.
Take up your sword!
To again battle the demon hordes.
The fakes, turncoats, users, and abusers
Watch their green blood explode.
Slimy, nasty, little, beady eyed toads,
Make their spite filled bodies grow cold.
You and me together, back to back defending each other,
Folding hands, we’ll squash those meddlers and their plans.
With each victory, our love will grow
Sword twirling fear our enemies will know!
So fearsome beauty protect me well
Carelessness wills all sadness to tell
It’s weakness allowing the blades;
To pierce our defenses, riddled with holes
To the ground I’ll fall,
With my last, you’re home I’ll call.
“My love, why have you forsaken and allowed,
You I heed! You I need!”
Doesn’t watch, as alone, out I bleed.
As the blood flows from his pale body.
A whisper escapes his lips,
But is lost in the chaos, of raging battle.
From atop a white stallion, perched on her saddle,
She sees her butterfly ripped to shreds.
Her lover dead, the chance for redemption,
Now just a memory in her head.
Maybe once again her butterfly will fly,
To find his lover and his friend.
But only if she breaks the rules,
And believes they can be made to bend,
That time and space can be bent
That a moment passed is not a moment went
The heavens can be wresting …
So that the butterfly, can find his perch,
So that once again lovers can be reunited,
And the evil forces thwarted.
A Day Without
Breath in, Breath out
Today we go without
Don’t lie, just try
Make believe or die
We weep, we sleep
Hidin in a hole so deep
Eyes dried, eyes wide
No more need to hide
A Dream
Last night, I was just a foolish boy.
You were just a silly girl.
Reflecting the moonlight, your beauty I couldn’t believe.
I was scared you’d float away; that you’d leave.
But you stayed and we played.
We conquered whatever came.
Nothing was boring or lame.
We laughed so much till we couldn’t breathe.
Then we laughed some more, until we were sore.
We had so much fun.
Playing under the moon like it was the sun, forever on the run.
When you tripped and fell, I was there to pick you up.
When I became sad, you were there to scarce away the bad.
We stayed up all night, talking and holding each other tight.
Love making when people were waking.
There was giving with no taking.
The world was in our hands,
We talked of so many possibilities and plans,
Of distant people, and distant lands.
I awoke feeling overwhelmed by sadness,
Last night had been only a dream, and now it was over
I was alone again, my heart aching with lonely pain.
The dream had felt so real … life is so cruel …
Then I turned over, and there you were by my side
For a minute I stared, my mouth opens wide,
Then I felt myself beginning to weep,
Watching you asleep, the feeling so deep.
I kept telling myself that I was not dreaming
All the while not really believing
That this beautiful creature is lying so close
And would not evaporate like a ghost.
Like a dream into my life you came
But unlike a dream you remain.
I will always remember that night,
And you asleep in the morning light.
From Being Lost To Being Found
(The Journey From A Child To A Man)
It is black where I went… sometimes I see a light. A ray of hope. Then in a flash it is gone. So I tread further into the darkness hoping to find this elusive light that will lead me out of this dark place, that I foolishly plunged myself into. The ground feels about to give away with each step I take. Will I fall further into the darkness or will the ground support my weight, allowing me to finally escape this place, where hope is a dream remembered only in the deepest of sleep. Sometimes wheeling this way and that in the dark I wonder if those faint glimmers of light were just figments of my imagination. Just darkness of teasing me. Giving me hope when really all there is … is the eternal starless night endlessly stretching out in all directions. At times I sit down and cry. For how long I cannot say. In this world of black night and shadow time does not exist. After there are no more tears left to cry, I get up again and continue my journey for the light.Arrangements under the direction of Henderson's Langley Funeral Home, Langley, BC.
