Ruth Duehmig

In memory of "the most beautiful girl in the world" Ruth Duehmig. Born on April 23, 1927 in Basel, Switzerland. Surrounded by her children, Ruth passed away on March, 17th 2012 joining her late husband Robert of 57 years and her loving daughter Grace. A mother of eight children and Oma to 10 granchildren Ruth was all about family, she basked in the glory that were her children and it was this kind, protective and nurturing woman that many would come to know and love. A pioneer in the real estate industry, at a time when dominated by men Ruth was held in high regard amongst her peers and was known for being a savvy business woman with a heart of gold. A lover of all creatures great and small, an avid Canucks fan, jersey and all, a fan of old movies and a hopeless romantic forever doting on the love of her life. But first and foremost she was a mother, her most prideful role. She loved every moment, good, bad or indifferent, she was the epitome of motherhood. A best friend to her now grown daughters and a good listener for her boys when only a mom would do. She missed Daddy terribly and her longing to see Grace was finally within grasp. She earned her sleep. Rest gently Mom, till we hold you again. Love your grateful children and grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 24th, 2012 at The Gardens of Gethsemani located at 15800-32nd Avenue, Surrey, BC.
