It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Rose Victoria Elrick, on March 28, 2025 at the age of 96. She was surrounded by her loving family and is now reunited with her loving husband, Wallace, who predeceased her in 1990.
Rose’s warmth, laughter, and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed by her daughters Wendy (Fred), Heather (Colin), and Lisa (Rory), and by her daughter-in-law Diane (Rob, †2019). She took immense joy in her grandchildren, who will forever remember her for her big hugs, mischievous laughter, and spunky personality: Sean (Jennifer), Samantha, Adam (Kia), Jennifer (Simon), Stephanie, Vanessa (Clayton), Macaela, and Shelby (Brett). Rose was also blessed with four great-grandchildren: Bowie, Lake, Townes, and Edward. She is mourned by her dear sisters Edith and Rita, brothers Bob (Joan) and Thomas (Florence), and many loving nieces and nephews in Canada and abroad.
Born in Winnipeg, Oct 7th, 1928 and raised in Camper, Manitoba, Rose met Wallace at their rural school, and together they built a beautiful life. They settled in Winnipeg, where they raised their family in a home built by Wallace. After retirement, they moved west to Langley, BC, to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
An avid gardener and talented crafter, Rose found joy in nurturing her flowers and creating beautiful projects. She was also known for her incredibly flaky pastry—her pies were always a treat to look forward to.
Rose loved to travel and had the good fortune to visit Great Britain with Wallace and her parents, Jean and Albert Warwick, reconnecting with family and sharing unforgettable moments at Highland dancing and bagpiping competitions with her daughter Lisa. She returned to Scotland and England with her niece Pamela and later with her dear friend Mechelle Brule. Her adventurous spirit led her to Disneyland with her grandchildren and on Hawaiian getaways with her daughters and their families—memories of her riding Splash Mountain and boogie boarding in Maui will forever be cherished.
Rose lived a full and beautiful life, filling every moment with love, laughter, and adventure.
She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
