Margaret Elizabeth Cairns

Margaret is survived and sadly missed by her loving husband of 66 years, John Cairns, together with her nephews Andrew, James and Mark Godefroy and especially her dearest friends, sister-in-law Carol Godefroy in Ontario and Pat Geary in Québec, and friend of later years, Valerie Cairns, in B.C.

Margaret is predeceased by her brothers Jimmy and Bob Godefroy.

She was born in Montréal, Québec to James and Lilian Godefroy, and it was there Margaret met and married the love of her life, John, in 1958. They lived in Montréal for many happy years before moving to Ontario, then upon retiring, drove across Canada to live in British Columbia in 2003. They travelled the world enjoying their retirement years. Margaret was an accomplished seamstress and knitter. She also played the piano well and enjoyed cooking – she was famous for her onion bhajees! Marg will always be remembered and loved as the sweetest lady with a great sense of humour and beautiful smile.
