It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother and grandmother Ishbel Mary Irvine Healy (nee Picken) on February 18 2017 at Burnaby General Hospital; Mary lost a fight with pneumonia. Predeceased by her loving husband Earl Leslie Healy, parents Stanley Belfrage Picken and Isabel Grace Frederique Picken (nee Ponton) and her brother John Belfrage Picken. She leaves behind her daughter Isabel Healy-Morrow (Dwight Morrow) and son Irvine John Healy (Bette Forsyth), grandchildren Ishbel and Earl Healy (Anna Baker), step-grandchildren Steven (Dana) and Christopher Morrow.
At the age of 3 Mary moved from Montreal, Quebec to Burnaby with her parents. She met and married the love of her life (Earl) who she spent sixty-one years with. They lovingly raised their family in Burnaby and in 1979 Earl and Mary moved to Langley, where they enjoyed many years of retirement. Mary worked for the Boeing Aircraft Corporation in the blueprint department during World War II, and was a skilled horsewoman. She was very accomplished in artisan crafts, and could sew, knit, weave, and even tailor suits. She was rarely idle - even when watching television, her hands would work in a flurry, knitting or crocheting. In the spring and summer Mary, with Earl, enjoyed gardening, camping and traveling throughout BC.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, March 11th, at 2 pm at Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church, 16613 Bell Road, Surrey, BC. with Bishop Barbara Andrews officiating. In lieu of flowers, give your mother, wife, daughter a hug and let them know you love them.
Arrangements under the direction of Henderson's Langley Funeral Home, Langley, BC.
