Mrs Elaine Marie Farkas

June 9, 1942 - November 6, 2010

We celebrate the life of a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She peacefully passed with quiet dignity; much the same way she lived her life. Elaine will be deeply missed by her husband Matt, sons Paul and Danny, daughters Amy (Rece) Mitchell and Gena Farkas; two grandchildren Marisa & Tyler. She will be lovingly remembered by sister Millie and brothers Ted, Norbert, Wilf, Donny & Wally. She was predeased by brothers George and Ben and sister Louise. In her lifetime, Elaine enjoyed gardening, parenting, librarian work, reading and teaching. Elaine enjoyed many years as a Library Assistant throughout the Fraser Valley and her major joy was working in the Children’s Department. She was a wonderful Grandma to her grandchildren; always taking the time to nurture, encourage and participate in activities and special outings with them. Her life was a journey; many joys in her experiences with family, friends and travel. God loves us all. If we listen to His words our lives are a joy.

An evening prayer service will be held at St. Jospeh’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 9th at 7:00 p.m. A mass to celebrate Elaine’s life will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Wednesday, November 10th at 10:30 a.m. with a private internment at The Garden of Gethsemani to follow.

Flowers gratefully declined; instead donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Special thanks to the Dr.’s and nursing staff at Langley, Abbotsford, VGH & Maple Hill Hospice. Rest in peace Mom. We love you.
