David was born in Ottawa, the middle of five children, and grew up in Newfoundland. He loved playing outside with his siblings and made friends everywhere he went.
After graduating from university, he moved to BC. He soon had two wonderful children who were his world—Katelyn and Ryan. Being a dad was the joy of his life, and he coached their sports teams, made them their favourite meals, and did anything to make them laugh.
There were many things he loved: his family, his children, spending time with his friends at the pub, the Montreal Canadiens, classic rock, and, of course, a good beer. He had a quick wit and a great sense of humour that endeared him to many. Dave was always smiling, laughing, and had a twinkle in his eye. He was laid back and appreciated the simple things in life. Whether he was holding your hand or laughing and telling you to, “Smarten up!” David was always there, and he will be missed by everyone who was lucky enough to have known him.
David is predeceased by his mother Eleanor and is survived by his father Hugh, brother Michael (Carol) and sisters Danielle, Roxanne (Frank) and Nicole (Jeremy). He will be forever missed by his loving children Katelyn and Ryan. He will be fondly missed by his nieces and nephews Jake, Quinn and Cooper.
A Memorial Service will be held at Henderson's Langley Funeral Home on February 4 at 1:00pm.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Townhall Public House in Langley on Saturday, February 5 at 4:00pm.
Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in David's honour would be greatly appreciated.
