Alison Margaret (Goodfellow) SPENCE passed in to the presence of her Saviour,
the Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven, on August 30, 2017, from her home in Langley,
British Columbia. “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from
the body, and to be present with the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 5:8
Here, she is survived by her husband, Pastor Lonnie Edwin Spence, their sons &
daughter & spouses, Gabriel (Michelle) Spence, Rachel (Michael) Creed & Micah
(Kendall) Spence, grandchildren-Caedmon & Darci & sister, Nancy Claire. Alison

Alison was born on March 7,1954 in Campbellford, Ontario. Alison became God’s
child at age 12, when she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour. There
was a special place in her heart for Miss Marguerite Hill, the Bible Club teacher
who led her to Christ for Salvation. Alison was a graduate of East Northumberland
Secondary School, Brighton, ON & St. Lawrence College, Kingston, ON. She
taught school for four years in Simcoe, ON & there she felt God’s call upon her life
& yielded to be whatever God wanted for her. She left teaching & took studies at
Maranatha Baptist Bible College, Watertown, Wisconsin, where she met her future
husband in 1979. Lonnie & Alison were married in Ontario on August 15, 1981.
Alison was a woman of character, faith & sacrifice & as Dad Spence would say,
“personality-plus!” Lonnie & Alison served the Lord Jesus Christ together in the
Gospel ministry in Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia & most recently Alison
gave herself for the last 22 years to the fine people & ministry of Victory Baptist
Church,Langley. Alison was an excellent wife first & then a marvellous Mother.
She poured her life into her children training them to follow the Lord she loved.
Her Memorial service was held on Sept. 4, 2017. Alison’s body was buried on
Sept. 6, 2017, with family & friends present. Alison wholly followed the LORD.
In lieu of flowers, Alison wished donations be made to two Missions’ projects of
Victory Baptist Church of Langley, choosing Malazo Missions or BPS Canada.
