William Ramsey Booth, 89 of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, December 6th, 2022 at the Fairfield Medical Center. William was born on January 18th, 1933 in Pittsburg, PA to the late George Booth and Mary Booth. He proudly served his Country in the United States Air Force, enlisting in 1968. He worked as an Aircraft Mechanic and retired from Civil Service in 1991 and from Active Duty in 1993 as a Master Sergeant. During his time in the service he traveled to many places outside the United States to places like Germany, Panama, and many others.
At the age of 21 he met the love of his life, Erika. They were married on March 28th, 1959 and were married for 49 years. William was a collector of guns and knives. He enjoyed kayaking, playing golf and gardening in his spare time. He also enjoyed trips to Amish country. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was the best “girl dad” and grandfather one could have asked for and he will truly be missed.
William is survived by his daughter, Brenda Elswick; grandson, Tyler (Kristen Collins) Deeds; as well as many other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife of 49 years, Erika Booth.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 14th, 2022 at 11AM at the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4PM-7PM at the funeral home. As well as ONE HOUR PRIOR to the services on Wednesday.
