Victor Allan Lucus, 69, leaves behind wife Jill (Hettinger) of 41 years, daughter Lauren (Jason) Harr, son Jordan (Nicole) Lucus, and beloved grandchildren Kendyll, Kollin, Kamden Buckner and Eleanor Lucus. Vic’s first chapter in life began on August 29, 1954, at Elgin AFB, FL. to parents Luke and Viola Lucus. He graduated from Lancaster High School in 1972. Vic proudly followed in his father’s footsteps and served in the United States Air Force from 1973 to 1977 after which he served the United States Post Office for 30+ years. He never turned down a project, could usually be found outside working around the house, and always kept his cherished grandchildren on their toes….or vice versa. In January 2021, Vic’s last chapter was written with a diagnosis of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), a rare neurological disease, by Dr. Hubert Fernandez of the Cleveland Clinic’s Neuro-Restoration. The debilitatingly cruel and exhausting disease rapidly stole the life of a beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, and son-in-law. Family also includes brothers Jerry (Jeananne) Lucus, Gary (Sharon) Lucus, and Ron (Kelli) Lucus. In-laws Patricia Hettinger, Wanda (Randy) Rollins, Laura (David) Holley, and Jeff (Jackie) Hettinger, and many well-loved nieces and nephews. Vic was preceded in death by parents Luke and Viola Lucus and father-in-law, Pearl Hettinger. Calling hours will be at Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home on Wednesday July 17, 2024 from 5-8 pm. A private burial will be observed at a later date.
