Shirley A Thomas age 80 of Lancaster, passed away Friday December 25, 2020 at Main Street Terrace Nursing Home. The gates of Heaven opened with a magical welcoming for the new Christmas Angel. Shirley was born February 3, 1940 to the late Luther and Elizabeth Hughes Miller. She retired from Ralston Foods and was a member of the Amanda United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. Shirley served the Lord all her life, loved God and her family very much. She had a smile and laugh that would light up a room. Shirley is survived by children, Linda (Herbert) Tatman, Melanie Entler and Michael Coats; step-children, Judy Morehead and Jerry (Barbara) Jacobson; grandchildren, Christina (Jeff) Foster, Keith (Shasta) Merritt, Ashley (Bernie) Conrad, Maygan (Jonathan) Campbell, Dustin (Sabrina) Merritt, Jeremy Jacobson, Tony (Annie) Morehead, Scott (Donna) Morehead, and Tim Morehead; great grandchildren, Ryley and McKenzie Foster, Kolton and Bentley Conrad, Trinity and KJ Merritt, Klinton Campbell, Kennedy Johnson and Christina Morehead; great-great-grandson, Ezra Morehead; sister, Charlene Pummel, brothers, Jim (Joy) Miller and Gene Miller; several nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Thomas, parents and sister-in-law, Carol Miller. The family would like to send a special thanks to Main Street Terrace for all the wonderful care and love given. A funeral service will take place 11:00AM Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home. Family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
