BREMEN: Ruth L Rowles, 90, of Bremen, passed away quietly at Heartland-Fairfield Nursing Home, Pleasantville, on Saturday, September 17, 2011.
She was the daughter of James and Flossie (White) Ransom and was born February 3, 1921, in Castalia, Ohio. She was retired from the Clerk of Courts Office of Fairfield County, and was a member of Bremen-Bethel Presbyterian Church, Farm Bureau Council 34, and several local bowling leagues.
She is survived by a brother Alfred "Bud" Ransom of Mesa, AZ and sister-in law Martha Green of Walnut Creek, CA; five children, Douglas (Peggy) of Sanford, NC, Harold (Ruby) of Arvada, CO, Martha (Ed) Pool of Lancaster, Joanne of Hallsville, MO, and Charlene (Wayne) Siplak of Aurora, CO; 14 grandchildren, Marty Rowles of NY, Emily (David) Roy of Pickerington, OH, Randy (Geralynn) Rowles of St. Augustine, FL, Wendi (Kirk) Ortiz of Eagle, CO, Derek (Kelly) Rowles of Raleigh, NC, Grant (Kristen) Rowles of Seattle, WA, Tiffany (Joe) Nelson of Spokane, WA, Mary Pool of Brussels, Belgium, Laura (John) Lieser of Kettering, OH, Amy Pool of Canberra, Australia, Nathan Pool of Arvada, CO, and Kevin, Cindi and Scott Moran of Englewood, CO; eighteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband Cyril to whom she was married for almost 60 years, her sister Edna Cessna and brothers Glenn and Ralph Ransom and brother-in-law Harold Rowles.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Halteman, Fett & Dyer Funeral Home in Lancaster with Pastor Cindy McKay officiating. Graveside service at Grandview Cemetery in Bremen, 2:30 P.M. Wednesday. Friends may call Tuesday 5-8 P.M. and one hour prior to service Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Bremen-Bethel Church or a charity of choice.
